Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer Reviews

What is it like working as a Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer?

May 2023
Clueless management seeking bottom tier talent.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in South San Francisco:
Pros: Location
Cons: Most of my coworkers are foreigners who are terrible at their job. The company would rather outsource to overseas companies and pay bottom dollar for years instead of hiring a single qualified person to fix real problems even on a short term basis. No room for growth, no sharing of equity, no reason to try for anything beyond the minimum since bonuses are small if not squelched.
April 2023
Good healthy Organization to learn and grow.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Surrey:
Pros: Ability to explore technologies and implement perceived best fit practices as they suit the organization.
March 2023
Great Company.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Cary:
Pros: The flexibility, benefits, and work culture at SAS are fantastic.
Cons: A lot of outdated systems and the SAS Programming Language and products associated with SAS are on the decline industrywide due to the adoption of open-source technologies like Python or R. The future of SAS Software is uncertain, and that uncertainty can be unsettling for employees at SAS, especially as we get closer to IPO in 2024
January 2023
Major growth with moderate growing pains.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Franklin:
Pros: There are tons of opportunities for growth and development, and the company is usually good at helping you make lateral moves if you want.
Cons: Compensation lags behind the market, and once you're in, high-volume, high-quality work doesn't change that: default company policy is that you can never earn more than 15% over you current rate of pay, and that can only happen if you get a promotion, which can be a complicated process. The growth in staffing and compensation does not scale with the growth in with demand, and schisms in leadership can make priorities shift on a near -daily basis.
May 2022
Great city, poor salary levels.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Montréal:
Pros: Great environment and culture
Cons: Far distances from home to work place, cold and tough winters
February 2022
It's hectic due to the time we spend on road.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Dhaka:
Pros: I am living with my family
Cons: It takes a handful amount of time to reach to workplace from living place
January 2022
Austin is a great place to build a career in DevOps!
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Austin:
Pros: Cost of living and friends
Cons: It's far from my family.
