Be prepared to handle all sorts of diverse things. Get a background in IT, Human resouce, and contract law.

Don't be afraid to delegate. Hold people responsible for their assigned duties. Be fair in your evaluations and work ethic. Reward only when rewards are due. Make it your priority to know your employees so you can communicate to them in an effective manner.

If you are new to the system used in work place, please ask for a refresher course or training in the system to improve your effectiveness.

Public accounting pushes one or the other. Try your best to get experience in both areas for well balance knowledge. Accounting helps you do your job, Tax helps you keep your boss and owners happy.
