August 2017
Hot.
Control / Automation Technician in Oklahoma City:
Pros: It's a job. I get a pay check.
Cons: I'm really 100 miles from OKC. It's hot in summer & cold in winter. Red dirt blowing. Corporate managers do their promotions with the "good ole boy" method. Same when they assign raises. Training is far and in between. Promotions are the same way.

Cons: Automation programming software can be buggy.
December 2015
Control / Automation Technician:
Apply yourself, take time to read and learn from the manuals.
Don't jump to conclusions when troubleshooting, start with the basics and work upward from there.
Always keep in mind, 'how do I want this to work when something goes wrong at 1:00 Saturday morning of a three day weekend in winter when it's -30 degrees outside'.
Sometimes you can try to get something to work for 20 minutes and get no place other than really frustrated because nothing is working, or you can take a 20 minute break ... Either way, you're going to be waiting 20 minutes.
October 2015
Service jobs are 24/7 , your never really off.
Control / Automation Technician:
Growing field and you need a wide variety of mechanical experience to excel. Pay is good , demand can be overwhelming at times.
