Compensation Manager Reviews

What is it like working as a Compensation Manager?

July 2023
Interesting and Frustrating.
Compensation Manager in Toronto:
Pros: The people that I work with and learning about various roles
Cons: Lack of leadership and ability to make decisions and stick to policy by leadership
November 2020
Compensation Manager in Los Angeles:
The most positive aspect about working for USC is the Trojan Pride. The University itself operates with centralized and decentralized organizations. I worked within a centralized org (ex. Finance, IT, HR, Legal, etc). Decentralized organizations would be units such as the business school, school of social work, etc. I believe there is quite a disconnect in assuring consistency in both centralized and decentralized operations. Communication from central HR during the pandemic has also been minimal, which is concerning. With alot of uncertainty, employees need more transparency when it comes to the state of the University from a financial perspective during this challenging time as this impacts the jobs, the pay, the morale, and most importantly the trust.
