Communications Manager Reviews

What is it like working as a Communications Manager?

November 2019
Work in Jhb becomes part of your life, it never stops, it creeps into your personal life but can also be very rewarding.

November 2019
Being on Staff.
Communications Manager in Auckland:
Pros: Most things are not set in stone which leaves me a lot of room to experiment and to create work that I want to showcase as part of my (future) portfolio.
Cons: They are not transparent about their processes from hiring, payroll, decision-making, to termination. As a non-profit, the one pushback you will always get is that there is no budget (true to only certain extent, I've found)--be it for a pay review or even a marketing effort. The culture and values upheld in the organisation is really set by the most dominant figure in the management and is often more aspirational than it is in reality. The organisation expects you to give 200% when they are never willing to pay you what you're worth. Zero integrity.

Communications Manager in San Jose:
The company has done quite a bit to shift the culture in a very positive way. We have Wellness Fridays, 6 months paid parental leave, 401k matching, and hold more site level events to increase engagement. That said - pay is still not where they may need it to be to keep folks from being poached. Overall though, a good company that does care about its people.
September 2019
It all comes down to management.
Communications Manager in Bellevue:
Pros: The work, the company, and the people are amazing.
Cons: My direct manager.
August 2019
Diverse and Interesting, oriented towards goverment contracting.
Communications Manager in Colorado Springs:
Pros: There are jobs available.
Cons: The jobs are mostly government contracts.
August 2019
Market Adjustment for Daniel N. Ossian.
Communications Manager in Ames:
Pros: Educating Iowans throughout the state via online videos and blu-ray discs.
Cons: The amount of pay inequity between similar jobs
