Claims Adjuster Reviews

What is it like working as a Claims Adjuster?

October 2014
It Is Different Everyday.
Claims Adjuster:
Pros: Fast paced working environment.
Cons: It takes a lot of patience.
June 2014
Lack of upward mobility.
Claims Adjuster:
Be prepared to deal with other people's problems all day long. Many times, management only rewards results and hard work with more work from other people not working as hard. Get into Risk Management. Unless you can get some type of Management title, you have a ceiling that you will either quickly hit or slowly hit, depending on your company. Case loads are almost always high. My current company is great, low stress, low pending, high complexity claims, but after working for two other insurers, this is an anomaly. I have a college degree, multiple professional designations, which people above me have neither and outside of starting my own company, opportunities do seem limited. Get an engineering degree. The years of hard work in college will pay dividends later. I slacked off and am paying for it now in many ways.
June 2014
Can Manage And Run A Front Office.
Claims Adjuster:
Pros: Fast learner, hard worker. I am very focused and willing to learn.
January 2014
Claims Adjuster:
High stress job and the pay does not always match the work demands.
December 2013
Claims Adjuster:
Pros: Always busy, management, coworkers, busy, overtime hours.
Cons: Stressful, angry reactions to denials, very busy all the time.
