Chief Information Officer (CIO) Reviews

What is it like working as a Chief Information Officer (CIO)?

May 2015
CIOs making a difference.
Chief Information Officer (CIO):
Understand the daily pain points of all the departments and how IT can help with automation/re-engineering of the current process steps in every function. Understanding the key drivers of the business, the priorities and key strategic objectives and aligning IT to do what business needs - is a key to success. Driving Cost efficiency is always an important pre-requisite, however, revenue enhancement support and efficiency improvement should be key focus areas.

Work smart and hard.
Chief Information Officer (CIO):
Work smart. Think outside the box and find easier ways to do the same thing but also work hard if that is what it takes until you can figure out how to work smarter.
May 2015
Management of Information Risks.
Chief Information Officer (CIO):
Pros: I can work from home twice a week and organise my work very independently. My LM is remotely located.
Cons: Senior Management tempt to believe that all Information Risks can be controlled.
April 2015
CIO.
Chief Information Officer (CIO):
Find out what is really important to the organization. Then let them know how that can be supported from the IT side. Include security, and lots of training. Even simple things can go a long way. Don't assume people know something, and let them know when you don't. Nobody expects you to know everything. Just be able to get them an accurate and timely response to things you don't know already.
January 2015
Challenging and Fulfilling career.
Chief Information Officer (CIO):
Pros: Being able to help grow an organization to be profitable by implementing new and innovative technology. Helping other people reach their potential and career objectives by providing mentorship and guidance within a strong results driven company.
Cons: Office politics, and unproductive meetings. Not any different than other jobs.
May 2014
Nature of the CEO's leadership style.
