Small community with exciting growth and opportunities.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in Little Rock:
Pros: Little Rock has a small medical community that allows you to develope strong professional relationships. Although, Arkansas doesn't let the size effect its innovation, research, or level of care for it's residents. Little Rock has the best of both worlds; by having a booming metropolis and outlandish outdoor sports/recreational activities. Also, Arkansas has the best bang for your buck! It has one of the lowest cost of living in the United States. The food industry is exciting and growing with many options of different venues, styles, & a wide range of the worlds many cultures of food.
Cons: Little Rock has recently been deemed in the top 10 most dangerous places to live per capita in the U.S.. Little Rock also tends to be on the lowest pay scale for jobseekers and offers minimal career growth within the same institution for employees. The known practice for healthcare professionals is hospital bouncing to get higher pay. Arkansas is slow in recognizing new development of healthcare roles. For example, Surgical First Assistant, Ortho Technician, and Specialty training in current position(pediatrics, advanced neurosurgery, Trauma).
