Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Reviews
What is it like working as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)?
July 2015
Hard.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
Pros: The patients and their beautiful personalities.
Cons: The in organization.

The psychological stress.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
Its a difficult job dealing with family members and a lot of times you work short and have to pick up the slack. The perks are job security as long as you try to maintain a professional manner.

Research where you choose to work. Give yourself a tour.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
Make sure the place you're considering working is a place you'd want to work. Walk the floors, talk to the aides, talk to the nurses, talk to residents/family. Get a feel for the place, before signing on any dotted line. A quality aide with experience, definitely not a dime a dozen; you can shop your services out, and barring any unions that might be where you're at, negotiate a good starting wage. This is a stressful enough job, as it is. If you're going to work in a bad facility, this hard job just became a daily dread to boot. So, if you're moving to a new place, do your homework. Also, I really wouldn't advise anyone to do this job for more than 5 years without some sort of exit plan or endgame. It's a job, not a career, regardless of those who make it as such, and claim to love it. It will break you, long term. Hunchback of Notre Dame broken. Not to mention, the psychological trauma of getting to know hundreds and hundreds of people, and watching so many of them die. It'stoughwork.

June 2015
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
You must have a heart in this professional and love what you do because some of the elderly really depend on you. You are the first person they see in the morning or at night. No matter what you do make sure to listen to everything they have to say because after all we are the ones that care for them on a daily basis.
