Authorization Specialist Reviews

What is it like working as an Authorization Specialist?

December 2020
Authorization Specialist in Titusville:
The job itself was great. However, the company does not care or do anything to retain the employees the have that are good. Their bottom line would be better if they would put a little effort into their employees not to mention they have no open door policy. They have “supervisors” who are verbally abusive. The compensation for the job done is below average. The health benefits were good. If you can tolerate bosses who don’t care this is the place for you.

It pays the bills and is pleasant enough.
Authorization Specialist in Aiea:
Pros: You don't have to be a people person at this job, but as it is in healthcare, it helps and makes the company look better. Fair company, working in back offices allows for a more casual apparel. Paid leave is nice but often hard to take, if you work in small offices.
Cons: Having to take phone calls from member who are being transferred from customer care, I often wish customer care would just send requests to us electronically if from members and not urgent, I understand some of the calls I get, but often they start going off into other areas not in my job title so it can be cumbersome as they don't realize we are not pharmacy but authorization agents.
