What is it like working as an Applications Engineer?

Applications Engineer:
Pros: Flexible work schedule, a lot of growth opportunities, good benefits.
Cons: Stressful. Constantly working on multiple projects and not being able to be fully dedicated to one project. Need to do a better job at hiring process and also reviewing who shouldn't be at a senior Application Engineer level. It's concerning when working with someone at a senior level who has no understanding of technical terms or architectural standards.
Also concerning that they are making design decisions.

Underdog.
Applications Engineer:
Pros: Having the title of an application engineer states that you're the underdog in the office. It's an extremely stress full job. Yet, it grows on you, because part of it; is dedicating time to educate and help out individual once you do so, the since of accomplishment out ways the stress level. (At times!)
Cons: Extremely stressful and mental dedicated job.

Cons: Recognition.
Pay in comparison to similar job roles.

Pros: I contribute to the team on a daily basis. Am I exposed to many different activities.
Cons: I have to multitask and move quickly between projects.

Pros: Corporate culture, work flexibility, Job Security, Good learning.
Cons: Absolutely ZERO hike for 3-5 years.. Very minimal 10-15k bonus in 3-5 years.
