Zachry Reviews

What is it like working at Zachry?

I hear the company is nice to work for.
Operations Supervisor in Beaumont:
Pros: Honestly, nothing at this point. Site supervision has made it a priority to alienate everyone underneath them who isn't a yes man/woman and apply arbitrary hurdles between current, long term, employees and any form of compensatory increase.
Cons: The assertion that everything we do is a group effort and all contributions are both appreciated and properly compensated.
Great place for highly motivated people, but motivation is critical.
Concrete Foreman in Lexington:
Pros: The work that I do brings me the most joy.
Cons: Time away from home.
Good work place, storms on horizon.
Mechanical Designer in Charlotte:
Pros: The quick pace of work when we have it. Benefits are good, middle management is good.
Cons: They are trimming the fat at the organization right now and the market doesn't look good for my specialty.
Boilermaker:
It's a great job if you live to work, not so great if you would rather work to live. On call 24/7/365 without compensation. No set work schedule. Might work 8 hours and then find out you have to stay another 8. The money is there for the making. It's the lifestyle that comes with working for a subcontractor, and the client produces electricity. During my season I once worked 38 days straight at least 12 hours every day.
