High student:teacher ratio. Pay scale not competitive. Disruptive behaviors.
Middle School Teacher in Chester:
Pros: My students and grade partner.
Cons: Pay Scale is low, not competitive at all, and teachers are leaving. curriculums Do not correlate with PSSA. All the student practice books and reference book books are in back and white. Not inviting at all. Teachers must modify all lessons and substitute assignments frequently. No small group differentiated curriculum. Lots of planning. No assistants in middle grades. Daily, repetitive. Disruptive behaviors results to loss of time for learning and practicing skills. Sad.
