Waystar Reviews

What is it like working at Waystar?

Sr. Product Manager, Software in Salt Lake City:
Waystar is built on acquisitions and head quartered in Louisville, KY so there are a lot of products under a single platform. Downside is the data doesn't transcend between products so the company is still pretty siloed...this is challenging for both clients and developers alike when you want to advance a product by use of data. From a product standpoint we are siloed too and grouped by technology stacks to acquired product for teams. The vision is not always defined clearly within roadmap discussions from leadership but the mission of the company is solid in "Simplifying patient payments" and this is a core focus for the majority of the products. The camaraderie within the company is pretty good even if we are distributed across the country. The company tries to get the various dev groups to product together at least 1x a quarter to foster those in person relationships. Turnover is moderate but seems to be the case within technology and when companies are acquired. Benefits are mediocre in that you start with 2 weeks PTO (unless you are a director or higher then you have unlimited PTO), there's a 4% match to 401k, health benefit options, there has not been a cost of living allowance to wages even with the inflation so wages are now on lower end of average level from what I've gathered from friends within the tech space. Overall the company has a good value and ethic scale within it, it tries to be transparent to process with a town hall monthly and there is always some
Typical corporate.
User Experience Designer in Atlanta:
Pros: The people I work with are great.
Cons: They acquired my company and slashed my benefits. They want to force people back into the office when we’ve had record years working remote. They claim employees retention is a top priority, but aren’t doing much to retain employees in such a competitive market.
