University of Utah Reviews

What is it like working at University of Utah?

Difficult to find advancement opportunities.
Finance & Administration Manager in Salt Lake City:
Pros: I enjoy the health care benefits
Cons: I do not enjoy the favoritism and nepotism that accompanies wage increase decisions
Only okay.
Research Scientist in Salt Lake City:
Pros: Flexible hours, retirement benefits are amazing, good health insurance
Cons: As a non-tenure track senior scientist, there is no pathway for career progression. I also feel underappreciated and like my pay is not even close to what I could be paid outside of academia.
Great Job, Pay Could Catch Up.
Public Relations (PR) Manager in Salt Lake City:
Pros: I like working on stuff that matters and makes a difference in the world.
Cons: I feel like I'm asked to take on more and more responsibility (which I like) without receiving more compensation (which I dislike).
Constantly learning and challenged by patients.
Ophthalmic Photographer in Salt Lake City:
Pros: Variety of eye conditions we see
Cons: Cutting through all the red tape
Understanding if I am being paid enough as a Eye Technician.
Ophthalmic Assistant in Salt Lake City:
Pros: Patient care
Cons: Administrative Staff and Pay
Accountant in Salt Lake City:
Great benefits, lots of flexibility, and great people. Salaries are below market and you will need to increase your skills continuously or change positions to get decent pay increases. However, must employees are willing to trade the slightly lower salaries for better work-life balance.
