University of Maryland (UMD) Reviews

What is it like working at University of Maryland (UMD)?

Very stressful and nerve recking.
Financial Accountant in Hagerstown:
Pros: That I can work from home to take care of my sick parent (Mother).
Cons: I am the only person assign to do what I am doing for the entire University.
If you want to keep busy between two departments and become the jack of all trades, this job is for you.
Event Coordinator in Baltimore:
Pros: Working with events, global academics, and the students on the Office of Student Affairs department
Cons: The fact that I am a split role between two departments. THe more leadership roles I take, to more I have to crunch in managerial tasks into the days I have with each department along with my normal tasks. I also work in global academics, social media management, and graphic design, so it feels like my title isn't event correct.
Plenty of work and good experience and training.
Police Detective in College Park:
Pros: Undecided
Cons: The way management of the University itself sees and perceives its police. Verbatim quotes have been they see us as same as janitorial and facilities management employees
Administrative Assistant:
Great learning experience if you're working in research, tuition remission for employees and family, free shuttle service depending on where you live. Downside pay is low last raise was 2014 and no free parking.
