University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center Reviews

What is it like working at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center?

Registered Nurse (RN) in San Francisco:
Pluses: it's a great place to learn and they pay you well. Minuses: where I work there's a distinct hierarchy & class system with MDs at the top and nurses at rock bottom. Learning is encouraged, but stating what we've learned is "uppity." Expect to be a punching bag when things aren't going well. Expect to be overworked. CYA meticulously. Keep your head down and try to get through it. Not sure if this is true on every unit.
It's fun to interact with patients and nurses.
Business Systems Analyst in San Francisco:
Pros: Interaction between nurses, doctor and patients
Cons: politics and not taking any action about particular co-worker from management level
Program Coordinator, Non-Profit Organization:
The general culture here is to promote growth and professionalism. Their health benefits are great (just added pet insurance for 2019). And they have pension or 401k retirement programs as well as plenty of supplemental programs you can enroll. I can't speak for all management but my department is supportive and open for feedback.
