The Pep Boys Reviews

What is it like working at The Pep Boys?

I’m sure the company has better locations but it is not transparent at the Napa location.
Maintenance Technician in Napa:
Pros: The opportunity to work and repair different things, problem solving and thoroughly inspecting vehicles.
Cons: Management, pay, getting to work for it to be closed pass the opening period to not get paid for the time I was there in the morning.
Meh.
Automotive Service Technician in Raleigh:
Pros: I like what i do as a job
Cons: I dislike that i am the low man on the rung, and that even the service writers get paod more that GSTs who actually do the job.
It’s good.
Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic in Covington:
Pros: Pay structure.
Cons: Directly effected by COVID and still expected to come to work. You can either go in or be quarantined with no pay, but you still may have a job, depending on your productivity.
Very relaxing.
Automotive Service Technician in West Lafayette:
Pros: Getting underneath the car and determining what sounds or leaks could be causing the vehicle problems.
Cons: When business gets slow.
Terrible.
Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic in Fall River:
Pros: Working on cars
Cons: Back to back 4 tire jobs ranging from heavy truck tires to 20 inch rims on truck tires then some more truck tires, an oil change....No resting please... More tires... srry no time to learn something new cause here is another tire job
Pep boys suck.
Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic in Denver:
Pros: It's a job, it pays the bills... barely
Cons: The pay is garbage. long hours\overworked and underpaid. i make half of what I should
Perks.
Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic:
Pros: My job allows me to use my head and think/problem solve. So your constantly learning.
Cons: Sometimes communication is not there between us (the tech) and the service writer, so work orders and are delayed, misunderstood, ect. Slowing down productivity and pay.
