The New York Blood Center Reviews

What is it like working at The New York Blood Center?

Helping the community save lives!
Blood Donor Specialist in Salisbury:
Pros: Enabling people in the community to save a life by donating blood. Educating donors and recruiting them to donate platelets, plasma and whole blood makes them super hero’s and it’s one of the easiest and rewarding things you can give of yourself. I also enjoy assisting and being a resource for new phlebotomist.
Cons: Staff shortage. Donor staff ratio= too many donors per employee.
Blood Donor Unit Assistant in Delmar:
Pros: I love helping donors save lives.
Cons: I dislike the donor to staff ratio. I dislike not having a lunch hour without scheduled donors and always being short staffed. I dislike having donors wait.
My perception of being a number.
Certified Phlebotomy Technician in Newark:
Pros: the selfless giving of blood products and the time it takes to do so from all those individual Donors that you see every 2 weeks
Cons: inconsistent and empty promises
