What is it like working at The Kroger Company?
Not great.
Sales Clerk/Cashier in Appomattox:
Pros: Nothing reallly. The jib gets me money to get by. The money I make here isn't enough to pay my bills. Currently have two job.
Cons: Pay is under what other people are doing for the equivalent or less like at Walmart, target, and food lion. I am a cashier and curtesy Clerk and still underpaid.
Challenging.
Barista:
Pros: I like the personal experience each manager gives you, the pleasant/ upscale work environment, and the attention to employees.
Cons: Often we are unheard or overlooked, and expected to give way more than we receive, and underpaid for such a successful company.
Long time employee.
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Pros: Working with customers. Always something new to do. Good benefits.
Cons: No work/life balance. Long hours. Micromanagement.
Good.
Produce Department Manager (Grocery):
Pros: I like all aspects of my job. I have enough responsibility to feel important yet not overwhelmed.
Cons: The management team seems to not communicate all information effectively.
Cashier:
Pros: With me being new to the team, the customers are so patient and nice to me. By far the best experience has been the customers.
Cons: I am new to the team and received no training. I ask a question and get attitude like it is such a problem that I am asking for help to make sure that I understand and am doing something correctly. I've been working there for a week and a half and still have no clue what they are going to pay me.
It isn't great.
Deli Clerk:
Pros: I liked that a could give so much to the customers.
Cons: The pay was so low it was difficult to live. The raises were few and far between.
Assistant Store Manager:
Cons: Hours and work/life balance.
