The Guidance Center Reviews

What is it like working at The Guidance Center?

Good, but could be Great.
Program Director, Healthcare in Mount Vernon:
Pros: It has been a good challenge to build a program from the start and now we have 57 participants and counting. It has also been rewarding to see how we have reduced the number of the hospitalizations for most of our participants since their admission to the program and has helped them secure shelter placement/housing, food, clothing, and other much needed items/services. My immediate staff that I work with and the work that we do. I also like that the company is smaller and foster a better relationship with all departments.
Cons: Slow pace of being innovative and creative. Not enough learning opportunities or for growth. Going back to school compensation is low. The inability to receive a raise yearly.
Working in community mental health.
Licensed Professional Counselor in Flagstaff:
Pros: I primarily teach Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and love teaching. Three classes for clients, and 16 hours a month teaching staff. (DBT is CBT expanded and now considered the "gold standard" in therapeutic approaches)
Cons: Lack of communication between management and staff. Decisions being made and changes being implemented with out discussion with staff. The pay.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is What I Do!
Psychotherapist in Cottonwood:
Pros: I am able to teach staff and clients DBT. I love working with the SMI staff training on policy and procedures, having gained my knowledge over the course of my career in community mental health.
Cons: Only a few in Management know that I am responsible for developing the DBT Certified Program and manage it at TGC.
Pay does not meet standards.
System Administrator, Windows Server in Long Beach:
