The Gap Inc. Reviews
What is it like working at The Gap Inc.?
Growth is limited.
Retail Assistant Manager in Greenville:
Pros: I like what I’ve learned over the past 9 years.
Cons: The work/life balance is non existent
The work is great, unfortunately management is lacking in support and training.
Risk Management Specialist in San Francisco:
Pros: I love helping the organization implemented policy and being an advisor to the employees and management.
Cons: No support from management, no communications.
Rough.
Product Marketing Specialist in Ferndale:
Pros: My full-time status which means even if its only a 35 hr work week i can use pto for the remaining 5 hrs.
Cons: I am paid so little, while having a great deal of responsibilities and work. Overall, im burnt out after 6 months but i need to pay rent, eat, put gas in my car, etc. its a bummer because before getting promoted i really loved working here.
Ugh.
Assistant Store Manager in Egg Harbor Township:
Pros: People
Cons: All the work they give the Assistant store Manager and not enough time to complete it
Fast paced & often rewarding.
Fashion Designer in San Francisco:
Pros: Freedom to own and manage my category and feel trusted to bring ideas to the table.
Cons: Stress, indecisiveness from cross-functional partners, lack of risk-taking/gut-checking.
Expected to succeed with the smallest amount of information.
Desktop Support Technician in Phoenix:
Pros: Working with my supervisor
Cons: Information about new or existing technology not readily available.
Good discounts, not so great employee recognition.
Retail Assistant Manager in Torrance:
Pros: I love the discounts at the brand and love that we get the discounts for Gap, old navy, banana republic, athleta and the factory stores as well. I love the management quarterly bonus incentive and the dental and vision benefits are great as well as holiday pay!!
Cons: I dislike the fact that they don't acknowledge your hard work..instead they constantly ask for more as if you're not doing enough. I was top performer in getting loyalty in my district and even then my manager and DM only asked me to get more and depended on me to get all the loyalty when no one got any for the day. I hate that they force us to constantly ask customers to sign up for a credit card. And I dislike that they throw a lot of workload on your plate but dont give us enough hours to complete everything they throw at us and constantly asks us to cut out crew leaving customers unattended everyday..
