State of South Carolina (SC) Reviews
What is it like working at State of South Carolina (SC)?
Great responsibility.
Dispatcher (but not Police, Fire, or Ambulance) in Columbia:
Pros: Help people get and find what is needed at the time requested
Cons: Not enough pay raises for outstanding workers
Compelling Work, Remote/Flexible Options are Laughable and Behind the Times.
Economist in Columbia:
Pros: Interesting and challenging work that directly affects the state or provides important context to decision makers. The people are nice and there is plenty of room for growth and development.
Cons: The lack of remote/flexible work is directly causing employees to leave and increasing the workload on remaining employees. When the private sector and many other state governments has embraced remote/hybrid work, there is little chance of attracting quality workers. That and some of the political stances in the state are unpalatable and make me want to run away and never come back.
