State of Alaska (AK) Reviews

What is it like working at State of Alaska (AK)?

Overworked.
Office Assistant in Kenai:
Pros: The way it impacts our community in ways that I do not see.
Cons: Dealing with the public and people who think they have a right to know about cases they are not involved in.
Satisfied With Employment.
School Counselor in Seward:
Pros: I enjoy the people I work with and the opportunities I've been given. I've worked for other states before and AK is much smaller in comparison, so I feel more included in decision making.
Cons: Alaska is very behind the lower 48 in so many respects. State politics and culture are not what I am used to.
Rewarding, challenging & stressful.
Case Manager, Social Services in Anchorage:
Pros: I love the people I get to meet and work with. Building that relationship and being able to help them and watch them succeed is so amazing. I get to see all their hard work.
Cons: No proper training, leadership is difficult to work with .
