State Farm Insurance Company Reviews

What is it like working at State Farm Insurance Company?

Great learning experience.
Account Manager in Clanton:
Pros: Creating relationships with customers
Cons: Taking on most of the work while the agent is rarely there
Office Manager in Hammond:
Pros: That I’m manager and I get to help people every day
Cons: That I don’t manage enough people to grow as a manager and not respected as a true manager
It can be either very satisfying or very stressful.
Account Representative in Yuba City:
Pros: I like that I get to work from home and be independent. I like having my own customer relationships, it’s very rewarding getting to know customers.
Cons: I think people tend to not appreciate the work I do for them and being yelled at occasionally is not that enjoyable. It makes me feel inadequate for a little and then I move on.
I have a very unique situation, soely running a business for a semi-retired Insurance Agency Owner. I love my career. I love knowing I am the one who gets everything done.
Business Manager in Salt Lake City:
Pros: I love problem solving. I am very analytical. I thrive in multitasking, memorization and quick problem solving. I love knowing there is no limit to what I can achieve. I love working in a field where "micro managing" is a positive and needed quality.
Cons: Running the entire business, doing every single role is something I excel in. I do feel underpaid and unappreciated, for all that I do.
Pretty good so far.
Claims Representative in Lakewood:
Pros: Laid back call center atmosphere
Cons: pay is based on percentages so if you miss out on a raise your pay will always be off . If written up it affects your yearly bonus and raise
User Experience Researcher in Atlanta:
I work with a talented team of individuals and have had the opportunity to continue to develop my skills. The company overall has a strong sense of ethics that permeates the culture. That said, I haven't felt the greatest support trying to find opportunities to grow within the company and there is constant reorganization that can be fatiguing. Overall, working here has been worthwhile and I have felt that I have been able to make a contribution to the enterprise.
Lots of opportunity for high performers.
Software Developer in Bloomington:
Pros: Good support, "State Farm nice"
Cons: Software engineers are sometimes "comoditized" - how many people do I need to make this happen in such and such a time frame. Not how any of this works. Little done to disincentivize poor performance / low code quality.
