Smithfield Foods Incorporated Reviews

What is it like working at Smithfield Foods Incorporated?

66hr weeks that last 20weeks without overtime.
Production Technician in Lucerne:
Pros: Working hands on outside with heavy equipment clear understanding of spray application procedure and the physical labor requirements and being lead maintenance of equipment. Ability to self educate to repair equipment. Light welding.
Cons: Management above supervisor and in HR. They dont incorporate LNM department as a part of the company to its entirety during meeting ir parties etc. The long summer 12hour days start early in spring and go through fall totaling 20weeks of alternating 5 day and 6 day weeks. LNM department cannot keep employees due to low pay scale, long hours and no overtime or bonus incentives. Its been 2 months since my application for crew leader was accepted and raise was lower than that of a bad employee and negotiations are halted without an advocate in HR I'm taking onnthe role without the raise. I'm still owed 2months pay raise after completing CAFOS class A Certification and had to call HR to get it added but rhey havent retroacted the time I had it before. They havent offered comoany apparel.
