School of Rock Reviews

What is it like working at School of Rock?

Wouldn't reccomend it.
Music Director in St. John's:
Pros: I love teaching music and sharing my passion and knowledge with other people. I get to do that here.
Cons: I don't really get to teach them what I think is important, most valuable musical education is skipped in the favor of having them play songs. Promising students who actually have a future aren't taught the necessary skills they need for post secondary studies. My boss, who has no experience as a musician or in music education likes to micro manage people and restrict the ability of staff who have spent their entire lives teaching and working in music studios.
Good Job for young teachers to get their feet wet.
Music Teacher in Passaic:
Pros: I like the level of autonomy an instructor has within the boundaries of the curriculum.
Cons: Lack of health benefits, lack of paid sick days, low pay. Lack of transparency. Issues with management. I personally feel like feedback is encouraged but never taken seriously into account.
