School Nutrition Association Reviews

What is it like working at School Nutrition Association?

Food Service Worker:
Working in school nutrition has been quite an experience. We have 25 ladies in our kitchen and we feed more kids than any other kitchen in our county. The work is a lot harder than I would've ever imagined. I can feel the results of 7 years of that hard work. I ache terribly every morning when I get up. I really believe that we (lunch ladies) should be compensated (paid)a little better than we are for the outstanding job we do on a daily basis. Having this job has given me an opportunity to have health insurance and I truly appreciate that, but after the cost of my benefits are taken from my check I don't bring home enough money to cover the cost of my basic monthly bills. Rent, power, water, car insurance, cell phone, food, and gas for my car. I don't have any credit cards at all. No car payment or any other monthly payment. I, along with my coworkers qualify for most government assistance. I don't take advantage of the assistance that I qualify for because my husband also works and we manage to make ends meet with nothing to spare for later on down the road of life. With that being said I'll back it up with this. I am thankful that I have a job where I feel that I'm needed. Feeding children at least 1 hot nutritious meal everyday makes me feel satisfied as a human being. I believe not every child would have that if it weren't for us (lunch ladies). Thank you for caring enough to ask my opinion.
