Maintenance Supervisor in Vail:
Pros: There are a plethora of opportunities available and open for improvement
Cons: Many systems that were implemented incorrectly are not working intuitively and are costly to change, creating antiquated methods and limited process.
Great place to learn.
Senior Electronics Design Engineer in Tucson:
Pros: Work with cutting edge technology
Cons: Sometimes too much red tape
Personally very challenging, working with the government providing contract deliveries to their needs.
Project Engineer in Las Vegas:
Pros: Seeing a Engineering/Production Team meeting their goals and objectives. Delivering hardware on schedule and budget.
Cons: Upper managements philosophy on hiring new engineers. They base the requirements on nothing but GPA scores. And give very little credence on past experience.
Production Control Manager in Tampa:
Pros: Flexible work schedule and opportunities for movement
Cons: Culture of bullying and harassment over cooperation. Toxic environment.
Not adequately compensated for experience and skills.
Senior Systems Engineer:
Pros: Pay.
Cons: Age and gender discrimination is obvious.
Culture of Lies, Secretism, and Good Ol' Boys.
Senior Systems Engineer:
Pros: The pay check is the only saving grace. And only barely.
Cons: Annual performance review and discussion is a waste of time and energy. It's all about favorites and being young or retired military, not about actual performance, attitude, or skills. If you are not at least at the Principle Engineer level by age 45, your prospects for any significant advance in pay or position are near zero. You'll never be assigned more than a "Meets Expectations" rating. You'll be lucky if you are not let go before early retirement at age 55. You will lose any real and meaningful skills by working at this company.
