It can be a very stressful job but I enjoy making a difference in the community and really value all of the training opportunities.
Dispatcher (but not Police, Fire, or Ambulance) in Asheville:
Pros: I appreciate being listened to and being able to create new ways of doing things to streamline and organize information
Cons: There is an issue with consistency as we cover 11 counties. Initial training could be better
Exhausting.

Cons: Working long hrs frequently over 50 a week with time doing work at home also. No compensation or additional time off
Stressful.

Pros: The downtime on the weekdays
