Pratt and Whitney Reviews
What is it like working at Pratt and Whitney?
Educational and Satisfying.
Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer in Hartford:
Pros: Helping production day to day
Cons: The slow days where engineering isn’t really needed
Fairly good.
Administrative Assistant in Bridgeport:
Pros: The old GM made everyone feel like they were somebody. He always made time for everyone.
Cons: Going downhill since the old GM left.
Constant Sprint.
Mechanical Engineer in Rockville:
Pros: work from home capable (for now)
Cons: constantly sprinting to keep up with a company that would rather make a short term profit than invest in a long term correction to mistakes and short changing decisions made 20 years ago. it is a never ending race to keep old engine programs aloft, constant push to keep a smile on the face lest be berated for showing any ounce of truth to the customer (internal or externally). it is a company with bureaucracy issues (ironic they removed the 'busting bureaucracy' slogan when that mission failed 3 years ago. work here if you want a cushy but demanding job and no future beyond the eventual failings of hardware already obsolete and given no funding or time to be properly designed.
Like a Rollercoaster.
Customer Support Engineer in Jupiter:
Pros: It always keeps me thinking and is never stagnant
Cons: There are no clear defined roles, and most of the time end up performing other peoples duties. No way to know how to get a pay increase or promotion
Dynamic and Challenging work environment.
Aerospace Engineer in East Hartford:
Pros: The variety of work and interesting subject matter
Cons: Need to work in person most days
Decent.
Mechanical Designer in Mississauga:
Pros: the width of expertise and experience, and the learning opportunities
Cons: there really isn't a way to grow at this company
Enjoy working with a great group of people, but don’t expect to live in an average house.
Senior Systems Engineer in Montréal:
Pros: Camaderie
Cons: Financial control has become more important than technical excellence
