Penn State Hershey Medical Center Reviews

What is it like working at Penn State Hershey Medical Center?

Rewarding but underpaid and under staffed.
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) in Hershey:
Pros: I have always wanted to work for Penn State. I do enjoy my job. Our office cannot keep any management on staff and is also extremely short staffed. Based on the fact that Wellspan starts RMA's at 18.00 an hour and I started at 16.00 an hour this may be the reason we can't keep anyone or get more help.
Cons: The pay and the lack of good leadership are difficult. I also have no ide who to talk to about salary, benefits, etc.
Proud Employee.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) in Harrisburg:
Pros: Being able to work independently and being viewed as a resource to other techs.
Cons: Understaffed
Under Appreciated.
Senior Graphic Designer in Hershey:
Pros: Almost all of it.
Cons: Not fair in compensation to the type of job compared in the area, and will not listen when it is mentioned.
Pray before going into work infant : nurse ratio Is very unsafe for the majority of assignments, one can give “ excellent care” as they state in their ads, the level of bedside nursing expertise is low because of the high turnover rate of nurses.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse in Hershey:
Pros: It is 2 miles from my house
Cons: Everything else. It’s the example of the motto of “ mediocre care”
