National Heritage Academies Reviews

What is it like working at National Heritage Academies?

Supportive and Rewarding.
School Social Worker in Waterford:
Pros: I love working with all of my students AND the staff. In my position I am able to collaborate often with our teachers, resource room teachers, and our behavior specialist to provide the best support to our students. The autonomy provides me with the opportunity to build my practice and find different activities and ideas to effective connect with my students, advocate for them, teach them, and provide any other necessary support. My administrators trust me to do a good job, gives encouragement, and a lot of feedback as I always request.
Cons: My biggest issue is the salary I receive and not having a clear understanding of who makes these decisions and who to report to with my concerns. Working in my position with NHA has been a great experience, however, I would have liked a little more support in regard to staff and student expectations. Though, I am also ok with not having it so that I am able to use creativity and add to the success of our students.
Special Education Paraprofessional in Charlotte:
Pros: The aspects I like most about my job are my co-workers and the students that I work with.
Cons: Management expectations and demand on the position. We are expected to instructed the students, but are paid very low.
