Retail Store Assistant Manager in Houston:
Pros: Napa is a great company to work for. This was my first real as a delivery driver and over the years I've moved to an assistant manager. Never have I thought of leaving the company, but I would like an opportunity to more and sometimes it is hard to do when people stay in the company 20+ years in the same position. I just wish there was more movement.
Cons: Stress level shouldn't be this high for a retail store in the Automotive industry.
Store Manager (Unspecified Type):
Pros: Some of the employees and customers we service and finding difficult parts that others can't find.
Cons: Stress, responsibility of everyone and everything. Being accountable for what others do In the store.
It's a fast paced fun environment.
Store Manager (Unspecified Type):
Pros: I like my customers and the challenges they present to me. It's a good feeling helping people in unexpected situations. Most people come to a parts store dreading the thought of spending money on something that they have to buy for a vehicle that their families depend on. It's nice to show them options when available to help them make a more informed decision. Most customers leave happy because they were given wrong information by inexperienced people trying to make a sale that is unnecessary.
Cons: I miss a lot of family time with my children. I work 60+ hours a week in stores staffed with "skeleton" crews. There also doesn't seem to be any way to move up in my current employer.
Fast paced environment.
Retail Store Manager:
Pros: It's a field I enjoy. Lots of Interaction with people with ideas.
Cons: High turn over rate. Hard to find people who like working in this field.
