What is it like working at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital?
Very stressful, understaffed. I have gained a very solid foundation here but am not currently happy. Too many in inappropriate admits to ICU, lack of accountability.
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Lake Charles:
Pros: The people who work there. This is some of the best people I have ever worked with. And the doctors are amazing.
Cons: Not being heard by administration. Administration does not make themselves known to the nurses of my unit despite knowing of the struggles my unit has. A lot of empty promises that were made well over a year ago but never implemented. Unit councils do not have opportunity to implement changes which are intended to increase happiness of nurses as well as patient safety. Always shut down by administration and/or nurse managers
