Kohl's Department Stores Inc Reviews
What is it like working at Kohl's Department Stores Inc?
What the hell.
Retail Associate in Portland:
Pros: I love my team, and helping the H-2 ‘s.
Cons: They promote idiots, while I pull the weight of everyone who slacks and they haven’t promoted me in almost a year while I have respect of everyone I work with.
Great environment w/ average pay.
Retail Sales Associate in Lewisville:
Pros: Co-workers and friendly workplace
Cons: the amount of work done but paid less, hours cut and managers focusing more on earning credits than their employees.
Love my job, just not the drama/stress it causes.
Retail Sales Associate in Conway:
Pros: Helping customers find what they are looking for and my co workers!
Cons: Upper Management is not friendly. Constantly finds the negative and harps on that. Never gives positive encouragement or feedback.
Average.
Sales Associate in San Antonio:
Pros: Easy to get days off.
Cons: It’s not enough pay when comparing the pay with direct competitors.
I am empowered to run my own business but taken advantage of with the degree of work requested.
Product Development Manager in Milwaukee:
Pros: Developing associates and watching them grow to become more confident in their abilities.
Cons: Spin that is caused by management and caddy cross functional team members.
Friendly.
Cashier:
Pros: Interaction with customers and co-workers.
Cons: Wasfes.
Kohl's Cash vs. Human Dignity.
Cashier:
Pros: Fellow employees are helpful and encouraging.
Cons: Wages are below the dignity of employees. Kohl's pays $7.45/hr and expects $15-20/hr of work. Heating and air conditioning not working properly, so everyone is sweating and short tempered, including customers. Customers know that Kohl's will "override" coupons, etc., and are quite simply, abusive to employees. Employees expected to "sell credit," and "capture email addresses," and pressure customers to take online surveys - IN THE STORE, to gain recognition from management...for $7.45/hr. It's draconian.
