Kansas State University (KSU) Reviews

What is it like working at Kansas State University (KSU)?

Great opportunity to work in international development, working with national research organizations, impacting small farmers.
Program Manager, Non-Profit Organization in Manhattan:
Pros: Working with ag-related organizations in international development
Cons: The pay is not commensurate with my skillset; however, this was discussed when I joined. I knew that I would be using this position for development, and they would be getting someone with a higher skillset than the pay suggest.
It is a great place to work!
Adjunct Professor in Manhattan:
Pros: The autonomy I have to choose how to do my job and the interaction with students.
Cons: Grading papers
Nice place to work.
Client Service Coordinator in Manhattan:
Pros: The benefits are okay, the hours are flexible, the doctors are great and most are willing to help with situations.
Cons: Co-workers can be very negative and difficult to deal with on a daily basis. Management is great, bit the wheels of change turn slowly.
Great work environment, compensation could be improved.
Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist in Manhattan:
Pros: The work environment at KSU is great. The people are awesome, the work is typically challenging and micromanagement is almost non-existent; these are perks of a university setting.
Cons: While micromanagement doesn't really exist, there is also little direction on projects and tasks. The biggest drawback to being at KSU is the pay rates. Allegedly the pay is in line with private market pay scales, but it's closer to 15% lower on almost all salaries compared to market value.
Negative attitudes unwarranted ridiculing and singling out.
Industrial Electrician in Kansas City:
Pros: The type of work.
Cons: Being singled out. Feeling of being forced to quit.
