Illinois Valley Community Hospital Reviews

What is it like working at Illinois Valley Community Hospital?

Stressful Work Environment.
Staff Nurse in Peru:
Pros: I love working with the patients. It is rewarding to be there for so many stages of each person’s life. It can be difficult, but being able to offer support to another human is an amazing opportunity.
Cons: The inability to have transparency about issues on the units. The changes with policies and protocols are not communicated. Doctors are allowed to yell at nurses at the nurses station. Charge nurses will sometimes tell physicians that the other RNs “don’t tell them anything,” so it is as though the staff RNs are “thrown under the bus.” This occurs even when things are communicated very clearly to the charge nurse. The amount of talk that occurs in the back of the nurse’s station while others are trying to keep up with their workload. The Administration with unwillingness and disregard to maintain compliance with a specific patient population. Physicians making decisions with patients’ care, knowing that it violates legislation.
