Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) Reviews
What is it like working at Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA)?
Good PTO after length of service.
Program Manager, Non-Profit Organization in Honolulu:
Pros: Good PTO for employees 5-9 years of service. Flexibility. Ability to work remote.
Cons: Endured years and years of disfunctional department management and overwork at HMSA and should have left the company a long time ago, however, I've recently reached maximum PTO accrual (at 9 years of service) and it's an incentive to stay as I recover from pandemic burnout. I have been asking to manage staff of my own for over 2 years and told no. I have been asking to create a job/role for myself and told no. Career trajectory /path to move up is unclear and I cannot see opportunity beyond my next project. Difficult learning curve to transfer between departments or lines of business. Lack of transparency around compensation and HR processes.
