H&R Block Reviews

What is it like working at H&R Block?

Just what I was looking for!
Senior Analyst, Compensation in Kansas City:
Pros: I get to solve problems every day that matter in people's lives.
Cons: There can sometimes be a disconnect between those who work in corporate roles and those who work in the tax office part of the business.
I love some of clients but do not get paid for working a lot of overtime.
Receptionist in Minneapolis:
Pros: I love customer service
Cons: My wage and the way other employees speak to me a lot of harassment and verbal abuse
Stressful, Unappreciated, But Customers Appreciate Me.
Receptionist in Purcell:
Pros: I get to see customers happy
Cons: I get paid to do 3 jobs including my own.
A Rewarding Experience That Can Be Muddied by Feeling Unappreciated from Management.
Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Aurora:
Pros: The customer relations, one-on-one experiences, a bit of freedom to help improve office operations if needed, once you get the hang of the procedures it can be a fun job on a good day.
Cons: The pay I believe is below average for what I have seen on other job offer posts on recruiting websites. Working in this particular franchise has had its disadvantages, from slow response with the management about office concerns and possible pay raises for the outstanding services I have provided fairly above and beyond my job description, with management being aware of them. Frequent slow days in my area where there is virtually nothing to do due to low client volume can make the job unfortunately very inactive and boring, even despite my efforts to be proactive.
A Good Experience.
Tax Preparer in Martinsburg:
Pros: Flexible hours and free continuing education. Strong encouragement and support for professional growth.
Cons: The pay during the off season is stupidly low. Everything is great during tax season, but there is little to no incentive to work after tax season.
Enjoyable.
Tax Analyst in Knoxville:
Pros: Tax prep and satisfying the customer due to their personal tax need.
Cons: When the client has a balance due; yet I provided necessary tax advice to alleviated future balance due and tax saving advice.
Underappreciated.
International Tax Professional in Victoria:
Pros: client interaction and appreciation by clients for my knowledge
Cons: working in a closet without nature light and high intensity lighting that hurts my eyes
