Fugro Reviews

What is it like working at Fugro?

Underappreciated, overloaded with work.
Project Manager, (Unspecified Type / General) in Hong Kong:
Pros: Challenges and opportunities to travel for projects overseas
Cons: Lack of structure in the business, poor systems and processes and communication, little respect for employees
Ups and Downs.
Proposal Manager in Houston:
Pros: Steady workload. The challenge of writing new technical proposals and being concise or elaborate, as needed.
Cons: Writing executive summaries to highlight customers needs in a captivating way.
Geotechnical Engineer in Zeist:
Pros: The atmosphere within the company and the responsibilities I get
Cons: The repetition in the work sometimes and different opinions of different reviewers
Lots of freedom, lots of potential.
Business Development Manager in Singapore:
Pros: Autonomy
Cons: Complex bureaucracy and not everyone grows at the same pace
Enjoyable.
Proposal Manager in Houston:
Pros: The changing environment and unique daily challenges.
Cons: The commute!
A challenging oppertunity with exposure to the business and employees on all levels.
Finance Manager in Cape Town:
Pros: The diversity, element of change and being able to function on my own
Cons: Management of people
Reasonable pay, flexible hours and interesting tasks. Everything else, not so great.
Software Engineer in Brisbane:
Pros: Work hours are flexible and employees are trusted with making their own decisions. Occasional free lunch every 2 or 3 months.
Cons: Communication to & from upper management is pretty much non-existent. Besides a steady salary, no benefits unless it benefits the business (e.g. training) or much hope for salary growth. Raised issues are solved late or not at all (aircon was once broken for 6 months, swipe card system still dodgy after 3+ years).
