What is it like working at Forest River, Inc.?
Beyond stressful with a minimal compensation provided vs responsibility entrusted & accountability held ratio.
Purchasing Agent (but not Wholesale, Retail, or Farm Products) in South Bend:
Pros: Success and earnings are in the hands of the employee
Cons: My department is held to a MUCH higher level of expectation, accountability and responsibility than MOST other departments.
Something new everyday always a opportunity to learn a new job.
Production Technician in Goshen:
Pros: The moving around and learning on a day to day basis not to mention the money is really good
Cons: 24/7 fast pace sometimes I love it sometimes I hate it
A truly sisyphean task.
Design Engineer in Elkhart:
Pros: I like the variety of some projects where I'm designing multiple types of components for a single build so it helps break up some of the monotony.
Cons: They can tend to have unrealistic deadlines, or unrealistic expectations with multiple redo's depending upon sales, so there tends to be quite a bit of time wasted on that end due to some people having a poor vision of what they want.
Busy and understaffed.
Project Engineer in Goshen:
Pros: The chance to see what you worked on built and complete.
Cons: It can be monotonous and have a heftier work load than the staff can manage in season.
High work load, limited department.
Design Engineer in Goshen:
Pros: The people I generally deal with are decent and want to work with you.
Cons: The opacity of the corporate structure, slow to evolve and the limited department size and pay scale.
I would feel better with rewards that come with doing a good job.
Plant Manager, Manufacturing in Elkhart:
Pros: Its a place to build a career in the right conditions
