East Bay Municipal Utility District Reviews

What is it like working at East Bay Municipal Utility District?

Challenging and rewarding, but at times limiting.
Paralegal in San Francisco:
Pros: What I like most about my job at EBMUD is the ability to work independently; managing litigation cases from inception to trial to the appellate stage; collecting, preserving, reviewing and producing evidentiary documents for litigation; client interaction; decent pay and retirement package; and a positive work environment.
Cons: What I like least about my job at EBMUD is losing my initial paralegal skills for drafting and filing pleadings, discovery and motions, which I enjoy, because these tasks are typically availed to the attorneys in our office.
Challenging and rewarding, but at times limiting.
Paralegal in San Francisco:
Pros: I am the sole Paralegal in the of of General Counsel / Legal Dept. at EBMUD and this is what I most enjoy. Litigation - managing cases from inception to trial, then appeals process. Legal and general case research. Interacting with client departments. Collecting, preserving, managing and producing large volumes of supportive discoverable evidence.
Cons: What I like least about my job is I am not utilizing my paralegal skills to the fullest, for example, drafting pleadings, discovery, and appellate briefs.
