Special Education Paraprofessional in Fort Wayne:
Pros: I like having the ability to work with kids that are in desperate need of educational assistance. I like when that "ah ha" moment hits them and they no longer need me for that particular area of instruction.
Cons: Working for teachers who do not know what it is to say "please" and "thank you". Working in environments where the "educator" has no clue of what they are suppose to be doing with a special needs child and then not listen to my recommendations. I don't like the fact that there is no "official" training for para-professionals, both for general education and special education and that there is no "para" management as a liaison to the building administrators and the paras in the rooms.
