Duke University Medical Center Reviews

What is it like working at Duke University Medical Center?

I deserve a higher salary.
Registered Nurse (RN) in Raleigh:
Pros: Patient interactions, patient education, autonomy, learning opportunities
Cons: Pay, communication
Many pros and some room for growth.
Certified Nurse Midwife in Durham:
Pros: I feel appreciated by my supervisors and patients. Unfortunately, Duke is still in the process of understanding and appreciating the roles of APPs in their organization. The L&D floors often view APPs as an extension of residents, which feel demeaning at time. This is definitely a work in progress and requires a lot of support from medical directors and our leadership.
Cons: Unclear job duties related to supervision and education. Do not receive the same (or even similar) benefits to our physician colleagues despite sharing responsibilities in education and supervision.
Big Ideas with Little Followup.
Business Process / Management Consultant in Durham:
Pros: Improving patient experience
Cons: getting projects derailed due to politics
