Dollar General Corporation Reviews
What is it like working at Dollar General Corporation?
The company just wants their money and they do not care how they get or who they hurt.
Retail Store Assistant Manager in Odon:
Pros: I love meeting the customers and helping them out.
Cons: Corporate pays absolutely no mind to their employees. If something goes wrong in your store then you are gonna be waiting a long time for a reply, if not never.
Do as much as a manager get paid less.
Lead Sales Associate in Midland:
Pros: The customers and the weekly pay and benefits
Cons: They aren’t understanding on our concerns
No oppurtunites.
Cashier in Fall Branch:
Pros: I wish I could say I like something. There are no positives with this company. If I had to pick something it is that it is close to my house and I can walk to work.
Cons: There are too many expectations put on workers and too little payroll. There are never enough hours, especially during the holiday season, to get things done. Customers get very upset about this and being cussed out by people every other day is not how I want to live my life.
That’s the title but it truly is understatement when it should be customer service freight proccesor.
Cashier in Charleston:
Pros: Flexibility
Cons: Because I don’t have a higher title my title is under appreciated
There's too much upper management telling us to do a lot of work in one day.
Lead Sales Associate in Cookson:
Pros: The customers are very friendly
Cons: 1. Worked in Texas at a dg and didn't get my pay on some things.
2. Expecting people to work very hard, and get low pay.
3. Being full time and getting part time hours
Working for Dollar Generals weighs on your ability to stay patient and passionate about what you do. If you're an extremely strong manager then this company is for you. If you're not a "working" manager, then I advise you to pass.
Assistant Store Manager in Apopka:
Pros: The pressure
Cons: They hire outside of the company too much, which in turn causes the disastrous DG stores that I'm sure everyone dreads.
Okay.
Lead Sales Associate in Chincoteague:
Pros: The freedom to move around the store instead of just being upfront around the registers
Cons: the running from back of store to give change to cashier at the front of store
