Daugherty Business Solutions Reviews
What is it like working at Daugherty Business Solutions?
Leading consulting company with strong engineering leadership.
Senior Software Engineer in St. Louis:
Pros: Since DBS is a consulting company there are lots of projects available. It's very easy to get stuck working on a specific stack and having your technical skills become obsolete so working on a variety of projects is essential to keeping your skills sharp and relevant.
Cons: Pretty hard ceiling between Senior Engineer and Architect with obtuse and arbitrary evaluation system.
Great company and benefits.
Agile Coach in Minneapolis:
Pros: I love having the support of a team behind me in all that I do.
Cons: Not a lot of transparency into pay scales, gender pay gap, and big decisions behind the scenes.
Solid IT consulting company.
Senior Software Engineer in St. Louis:
Pros: Daugherty Business Solutions is a pretty good place to work. They offer a wide range of training and professional development opportunities. The work is also not stressful. I've never worked unpaid overtime the entire time I have been here. As a consulting company they also can offer a wide variety of projects to work on so there is a fair amount of flexibility for career development.
Cons: They do almost nothing but corporate IT work which can be boring and tedious. I can't even count the number of CRUD apps I've made.
Software Engineer in Minneapolis:
This is a consulting firm. Daugherty is a great company, and you truly will drive your career here. The only downside is that some clients really need Daugherty's services, because those clients suck.
There are lots of opportunities to further my education in software development, but the overall work can cause a lack of motivation.
Junior Software Engineer in St. Louis:
Pros: My coworkers are great and the overall culture is very welcoming.
Cons: The work can be boring.
Growing company with a lot of opportunity for professional growth.
Senior Software Engineer in St. Louis:
Pros: There are a variety of projects and technology stacks.
Cons: Work is pretty boring. I can't even count the number of enterprise CRUD apps I've worked on.
Growing company with a lot of potential for career growth.
Senior Software Engineer in St. Louis:
Pros: Being a consulting company they have a lot of ability to switch roles and technology stacks to suit your career development. I requested a different technology stack and they were able to get me reassigned relatively quickly.
Cons: Consulting work tends to be quite dull. CRUD apps with hard coded business processes around them.
