Conservice Reviews

What is it like working at Conservice?

Great job for learning.
Videographer in Smithfield:
Pros: How much I’m able to learn and grow.
Cons: Feels like I’m overworked and expected to learn a lot of skills without being compensated for them.
No Career Path.
Software Developer in Logan:
Pros: Lower management is great to work with. They are pretty flexible schedule-wise for a developer.
Cons: The company is run by the old guard who still has a startup mentality without the skill to facilitate current technologies or practices. The old guard has never had an eye for the big picture, so features are pumped out with no thought for design or architecture. Ideas and best practices are shot down because the old guard and upper management don't understand them. Those in leadership positions have no idea how to write unit tests. The whole situation has caused a mountain of technical debt and an extremely fragile repository that is not allocated the resources to deal with. On top of that, there is no opportunity for a career here. The only way to progress is through leadership. There is no leadership turnover. Technical skills aren't monetarily rewarded, otherwise. Only additional responsibility without authority is given. I've lost all three of my mentors in the last month. Finally, there are no resources allocated for developers/engineers to be educated. This has led to a culture of fresh college grads being hired en masse, being trained by people who don't know what they're doing, perpetuating horrible practices. Those who know what they're doing don't have authority, so they quickly become frustrated.
