It’s a very reactive IT environment.

Pros: I’m pretty autonomous in my position. I take care of our employees and do my best to make their job easier to the best of my ability, and they appreciate that.
Cons: Nothing is proactive in our Dept,/Company, changes are made only after something fails or there’s a cost to upper Mgmt that’s been incurred for doing things ‘as they are’ for so long. Communication between ELT/top level management is almost non-existant.
