Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Inc. Reviews
What is it like working at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Inc.?
It is a tough role and there is not the support from the directors that is needed to be successful. There is no career advancement unless you are part of a small group.
Nursing Manager in Atlanta:
Pros: I do enjoy my fellow managers and the families and patients we help.
Cons: Upper leadership is not transparent. They are not present on the units and do not support the manager to do their job. They are too worried about being liked and they do not develop their managers. Promotions are given into director roles without an interview process.
A lot of work for not a lot of pay (I love working here)
Emergency Department Technician in Atlanta:
Pros: I like working with kids
Cons: I don't like how hard I work for the level of compensation I receive
Definitely room for improvement.
Psychotherapist in Atlanta:
Pros: I love working with families and getting to work with other employees who have integrity. Having a community of co-workers that I can trust, definitely has made my experience worthwhile.
Cons: However, there is a toxic culture within CHOA, where people are often silenced, where communication is not reciprocated, and where those in leadership often have their own agendas, with very little consideration given to the hard-working staff, or the needs of real families.
I feel like I really made a difference here. The staff was cohesive, unit relations were good and communication was valued.
Quality Control (QC) Associate in Lithonia:
Pros: Overall a good place to work. Work/life balance. Good health benefits. Nice new support building for non-clinical staff. Friendly co-workers. Fun work.
Cons: It’s located in a heavily congested area
Good and bad. Corporate out of touch.
Radiologic Technologist in Atlanta:
Pros: Helping the children, some recognition.
Cons: Unrealistic expectations, okay with overworking staff. People problems poorly addressed.
Children's is a great place to work, Marcus Autism Center can do better with lessening the micromanagement.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist in Atlanta:
Pros: I love the work that I do with the patients.
Cons: I don't like being micromanaged.
Stressful but satisfying.
Orthopedic Technician in Atlanta:
Pros: working with the pediactric population
Cons: management in the Emergency room Dept
